Spring is in the air so we have been discussing this and providing activities to reinforce learning about the current season. This has included planting fruit and vegetable seedlings in our raised garden beds. The children helped to prepare the beds, and with planting and watering. The plants are growing nicely; hopefully we’ll have some fresh produce to use for cooking at kindergarten this term. The children each planted a sunflower seed and have taken the seedlings home for their own gardens.

We used an incubator to hatch ten chickens. These have now been adopted by Kindergarten families. This may lead to discussions on other lifecycles such as butterflies.
